Working at the Perth Royal Agricultural show in 2004 I first laid my eyes on the Bernese Mountain Dog and was hooked. I carried around on my purse for the next 2 years a breeder's card belonging to David and Gail May of Sennen Bernese in Western Australia. I was drawn to the quality and temperament of their dogs.
In October 2006, David and gail entrusted me with my first Bernese Sennen Gotta Crush on U aka Kenya. What a bundle of energy and enjoyment. Many thanks go to David and Gail for the guidance and help offered with what to expect from owning a Bernese and how to show my dog. I was warmly welcomed by other members exhibiting their Bernese in the show ring.
They say once you get your first Bernese it will not be long before you want another which is true so in 2007, Sennen Jindabyne aka Kobi joined Kenya. Kobi was the mother to the "s"litter at Sennen Bernese in 2010 and in early 2011 achieved her Australian Champion title.
David and Gail have been wonderful for the breed in Western Australia and Australia in general and have bred for correct type, soundness, longevity and temperament. They have imported many dogs now to improve on this wonderful breed and the gene pool in Australia
Late in 2010, I registered the prefix "Bernabout" and now hope to follow in their footsteps.
